December 25, 2020
While 2020 will enter history as the pandemic year, out of the ashes of humility and rethinking priorities, this Christmas and New Year 2021 seem to shine a light of hope, faith in better days ahead. That surely includes those who create and perform music, and all who appreciate it. Obvious to all was the fact concerts were to be hardest hit and last to recover until the world was healed and confident once again to find community in music.
It wasn’t easy to maintain that hope in the darkest days of the pandemic. Concert tours vanished overnight, most simply cancelled. But some promoters kept their contracts intact; in good faith those dates were simply postponed to a better time. This good faith maintained the integrity of the industry; the staging production services – sound & lighting, trucking & transport, the venues, vendors and support infrastructure, all who need to plan and schedule a return to certainty. Those promoters deserve our thanks.
Prism was already booked for numerous festival and theatre dates, which are still intact, now awaiting fixed dates. We’re thankful to those who kept it alive, and look forward to connecting with our friends, the audience who finally make it all possible. We can hardly wait to see everyone again soon!
